Dr. Jeffrey del Rosario is a Registered Clinical and School Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO), providing services for children and adolescents. The psychological services he provides include assessment (e.g., psychological, psychoeducational, gifted), therapy (e.g., cognitive-behavioural therapy or CBT, dialectical behavioural therapy or DBT), and consultation to treatment-team members for a variety of concerns. These concerns include (but are not limited to) common childhood diagnoses, such as Intellectual and Learning Disabilities, Communication Disorders, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety and Depressive Disorders, Trauma- and Stressor-Related Disorders, and Tic Disorders.
Assessments and treatment plans are tailored to each client’s unique strengths and areas of needs, while such plans are communicated to the client and his/her parent(s)/caregiver(s) with genuine empathy.
Dr. Jeff received his Master’s (M.A.) and Doctorate (Psy.D.) degrees in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois. His research, which was published in a major scientific journal, was on the impact of structured comic/improvisational exercises on symptoms of performance anxiety. Prior to graduate school, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.
Over the last eight years, Dr. Jeff has been providing psychological services for different agencies who serve child and adolescent populations. His completed his pre-doctoral internship at Switzer Learning Center in Torrance, California, where he provided assessment and therapy services to elementary and high school students with social, emotional, behavioural, and academic difficulties, and consultation services to their teachers. After moving to Canada, Dr. Jeff was a clinical psychologist at Lutherwood in Waterloo, Ontario, where similar services were provided in their residential and day treatment programs, through physician and school-based referrals and through Family and Children’s Services of the Waterloo Region. Partnering with the Royal Bank (RBC) as a part of their Children’s Mental Health Project initiative, Dr. Jeff was featured on an informative video exploring common mental health disorders in children and adolescents.
Dr. Jeff currently serves as a school psychologist with a school board in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), providing psychological services to students in elementary, middle, and secondary schools and consultation services to various school staff members (including teachers, principals and superintendents).
