Stephanie Smith is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). She completed her Master’s degree in Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University in Kitchener, Ontario, and she works under the supervision of registered psychologist Dr. Kerris del Rosario. Stephanie has clinical experience addressing a wide variety of specific challenges including trauma, couple and family dynamics, depression, anxiety, abuse, addictions, chronic pain and deteriorating health, and grief/loss.
Stephanie provides therapy that focuses on each individual’s needs, and she is intentional about joining with each client to set and reach goals that are meaningful to them. She aims to provide a safe, calming environment in which her clients can explore issues they face that may be confusing, painful or difficult to process. Stephanie uses a variety of therapeutic interventions that include cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), relaxation and mindfulness strategies, emotionally-focused therapy (EFT), and narrative techniques, and her experience (as well as that of her supervisor) also allows her to offer her clients the unique opportunity to explicitly integrate their faith into their psychological healing and growth, should they so desire. Stephanie has worked with children, adolescents, adults and couples as they learn to cope with crises, complex family dynamics, and relational issues. She is passionate about helping individuals find hope and healing, even in the midst of uncertain and challenging circumstances.
